How do I know when the right time is to replace my wood garage door?

You would want to replace your wood garage door when it becomes damaged and is no longer considered safe. Look for roller, cable, section and hinge damage. Fig 1.1 shows a severely damaged door and should be removed and replaced immediately by a professional.

Although this would be an extreme case, it can happen. Wood doors are prone to absorb moisture and by doing so can promote rotting and cracking. Fig 1.2 shows common sign of aging and moisture conditions a replacement door is recommended
